Bringing AI-Powered Search to Aussie Corporations
Some of the best projects start with a conversation, and in this case, it started with a reader. When David Walter subscribed to Digital Marketing Magazine, he was particularly interested in an edition focused on the changing face of search in the AI era.
That article kicked off a discussion about where search was heading, how businesses were adapting, and how AI was reshaping the way organisations find and use information.
It also led to a partnership that would transform an established Australian enterprise search company into a modern brand built for the next decade of AI.
That company is now Search Sensei. https://searchsensei.ai/
This is the story of how REMAP helped bring it to life.
The Founder: A Long Career in AI Before AI Was Cool
A lot of people talk about AI as if it started last year. David Walter is not one of those people.
When he first reached out to us, it was clear he wasn’t riding a trend: he’d been building advanced AI, deep learning models, predictive analytics solutions, and enterprise search platforms long before AI became a buzzword.
His client list also speaks for itself: National Australia Bank (NAB), major government departments, and high-profile enterprises trusting him to solve complex, long-standing information management problems.
The talent was there. The track record was there. The technology was there.
But the brand wasn’t.
The Problem: A World-Class Product With a Brand That Didn’t Match It
David came to us with a clear vision for what his next chapter would look like. His existing company, Search 365, had served him well. But as the AI landscape evolved, he could see it was time for a reset. He wanted to shift into a fresh identity that reflected his expertise, his future direction, and the calibre of clients he works with.
He had the new business name “Search Sensei” but everything else needed to be built from the ground up.
The challenge was simple to articulate but complex to deliver:
- The old brand didn’t look like it belonged next to global competitors.
- The website didn’t reflect the sophistication or capability of the business.
- The visuals didn’t communicate trust, modernity, or expertise in AI.
- There was no defined strategy for positioning or differentiation.
- And crucially, there was no clear narrative to attract the high-value enterprise clients he wanted to work with.
Essentially, David had a world-class offering, but the brand wasn’t helping him tell that story.
That’s where REMAP stepped in.
Where We Started: Strategy Before Execution
With a blank slate in front of us, the first step wasn’t design or content; it was understanding.
We sat down with David to unpack:
- His long-term vision for Search Sensei
- The clients he wanted to attract
- The problems he solves for enterprise organisations
- The competitive environment in the AI search industry
- His value proposition, and what truly sets him apart
Once we understood the direction of the business and the opportunity ahead of it, we could start building everything else.
This strategic foundation guided every decision that followed.
Positioning Search Sensei: Competing Against Global Giants
Search Sensei doesn’t play in a small niche. The competitors in this space are some of the biggest technology companies in the world: large US-based providers with huge marketing budgets, established brand recognition, and long-standing enterprise relationships.
But this wasn’t a disadvantage. In fact, it created the perfect opening for a challenger brand.
Where global tech giants are often rigid, expensive, slow-moving, and distant, Search Sensei offers something they simply can’t:
- Local market knowledge
- Deep technical expertise
- A close, hands-on customer experience
- Real people you can actually speak to
- Same time-zone support
- Flexibility and adaptability
This became the cornerstone of Search Sensei’s competitive advantage and the guiding theme of the new brand.
This wasn’t just a cosmetic redesign. It was a strategic repositioning.

Building the Brand: From Logo to Identity System
Once the strategy was locked in, our creative team started developing the brand identity from scratch.
Logo development
We explored multiple concepts that balanced modern AI themes with the calm, trusted presence suggested by the word “Sensei.” The result was a clean, confident mark that signals expertise without feeling cold or technical.
Colour palette
We chose a green-led palette: something warm, inviting, and distinctly human. It contrasts the sea of blues and greys typically used by tech giants and helps Search Sensei stand out with a friendlier, more approachable tone.
Brand guidelines
We created a full suite of brand foundations, including:
- Logos and usage rules
- Colour system
- Typography
- Imagery principles
- Layout grid
- Iconography
- Tone of voice direction
This ensured the brand wasn’t just visually appealing, it was consistent and scalable as the business grows.
Designing and Building the Website: Human, Clear, and Confidence-Building
Once we had the brand identity in place, we moved into the website.
- Content architecture
We started with a strategic content plan. What information would enterprise clients want? What credentials needed to be front and centre? How could we convey trust, capability, and clarity without overwhelming visitors?
We mapped out the full information architecture to create a clean, intuitive experience.
- UX and design
The website needed to balance two things:
- The sophistication of a high-end AI company
- The human, local, trusted voice that sets Search Sensei apart
To achieve that, we incorporated more human faces throughout the site than you’d typically find in the enterprise AI space. We avoided overly technical, robotic imagery and focused on clarity, warmth, and confidence.
- Full creative and digital asset production
REMAP created everything:
- Logo
- Colour palette
- Brand identity
- Website design
- Website build
- Copywriting
- Photography selection
- Email signatures
- Digital templates
- Branded documentation assets
For David, this meant he didn’t need to juggle multiple agencies or freelancers. Everything came from one team, aligned under one strategy.
The Result: A Brand That Finally Matches the Business Behind It
The transformation has been dramatic.
Search Sensei now has:
- A polished, modern brand that reflects its expertise
- A professional website suitable for enterprise and government audiences
- A unique identity in an industry dominated by faceless tech platforms
- A clear strategic positioning against global competitors
- A brand story that is authentic to David and the value he delivers
For existing clients, the brand now aligns with the quality of the work they already experience.
For future clients, it instantly establishes trust and credibility.
And for David, it signals the beginning of a new chapter. One rooted in decades of experience but built for a future where AI plays a central role in enterprise search.
This project has been a great example of what happens when strategy, creativity, and collaboration come together. David brought the vision and deep technical expertise. We brought the brand, design, and digital capability to help articulate that vision in a way that resonates in the market.
Together, we built a brand that not only competes with global players but also stands out from them.
